Hugh Laurie Leaving TV After 'House'

British actor Hugh Laurie says he won't sign on to star in another TV show after his U.S. medical drama series "House" wraps up.

The show, which shoots in Los Angeles, is currently in its eighth season. It is unclear whether it will return next season.

"I think I have been rather spoiled here," the Golden Globe Award-winning actor told Scotland's The Daily Record.

"I can't imagine there will be another one quite like this," he said. "I think I will probably be as interested by either writing or producing or directing, or some other aspect. I find the whole field of it fascinating. And I think I am extremely lucky to have had the one shot that I have had at it and I wouldn't go looking for lightning to strike twice."

Laurie's film credits include "Stuart Little," "The Borrowers," "Sense and Sensibility" and "101 Dalmatians." He has starred in the TV comedies "Fortysomething," "Jeeves and Wooster" and "A Bit of Fry & Laurie.
