Does Your Spouse Have Insurance?

The spouse of an AAFMAA member is eligible for all of the same great policies that members have access to purchase. Level Term I to age 50*? this policy is a low-cost policy that covers insureds from age 18 ? 50*. The premium and death benefit remain level until age 50. At age 50, the policy will decrease to 27% of its initial face amount and at age 55* the coverage will decrease to 20% of the initial face amount. It will then terminate at age 60*. The policy has the following features:

  • Individual policy, not linked to member?s
  • Convertible to Value-Added Whole Life at any time without additional medical underwriting
  • Convertible to Five-Year Renewable term before age 48 without additional medical underwriting
  • Unlike SGLI, it can continue even if the member?s policy is terminated.
  • Examples of premiums:
    o $800,000 for $35/mo
    o $300,000 for $15/mo
    o $100,000 for $5.90/mo
    o $50,000 for $2.95/mo

*subtract 10 years for nicotine users.

Level Term II ? You select the coverage amount and term you need from five ? 30 years. The premium and coverage amount remain the same for the entire term.
