If you are the kind of person who loves Target and loves a Target military discount — and let’s be honest, who isn’t? — then you are going to be as excited as we are that Target has brought back its Veterans Day military discount for 2024.

Like last year, shoppers need to take an extra step to use it.

How to get your Target military Veterans Day discount

According to Target, the 10% discount will be available Oct. 27 to Nov. 11 in store and online. To use it shoppers must add their military status to a Target Circle account via the Target app or Target's website.

From there, users should visit the Target military registration page and enter their details. We tested registration in 2020 using two accounts, one as a dependent of a veteran and one as a dependent of an active duty service member. In both instances all that was required was information on the service member’s name, birth date and, in the case of the veteran, service end date. Registration was verified immediately after submitting the form.

This year, the coupon can be used twice.

Tying military status to your Circle account will also make you eligible for future “bonus offers” their website says.

In the past, that 10% came off your entire basket, but some exclusions applied.

Before 2020, users had to apply for the discount coupon online by submitting a series of details -- name, service, date of birth, email address -- and were either approved immediately or asked to supply supporting documentation. Once approved, a coupon was sent by email and was then available for use in the discount window.

Discount exclusions for 2024 include: "Alcohol, Barbie camper and houses, Beats, Bose, clinic & pharmacy, dairy milk, Disney Princess Castle, Dyson Toys, Fitbit, gift cards, HP Inc., ICU reading glasses, JBL, Klipsch, LEGO, LG OLED and QNED TVs, limited-time designer partnerships, Lovevery, mobile contracts, Phillips Power Shave and Phillips Power Dental, Plan B, prepaid cards, PlayStation - consoles, virtual reality and accessories, Samsung TVs, Shipt Membership, Sony Electronics, Storyphones, Take Action, Target Optical, Trading Cards, Trial and Travel, Turtle Beach, Ulta Beauty at Target Brands, WonderFold, and Yoto,” according to the Target website.
