Police in Florida said a wife stabbed her husband of five months seven times with a steak knife when he refused to give up the TV remote.
Investigators said Deloris Holley, 61, of St. Petersburg, wanted to watch "The Closer" Monday night while her husband, David Marion, was more interested in watching the football game, WTSP-TV, Tampa, reported Friday.
Police said Holley became irate when Marion refused to give up the remote control so she retrieved a steak knife from the kitchen and stabbed her husband seven times, including a nearly fatal chest wound that punctured a lung.
"They've been married for about five months, so we don't know their total history at this point. But, obviously this was an extreme case of letting your emotions get away from you," police spokesman Officer Michael Puetz said.
Marion was treated for his injuries at the Bayfront Medical Center. Police said alcohol may have been a factor in the incident.
Holley was arrested and charged with attempted murder. She was denied bail.
