Police: Burglars Snorted Ashes

Police in Florida said burglars who stole the ashes of a woman's father and her dogs from her home believed the remains to be drugs and attempted snorting them.
Marion County sheriff's detectives allege David Diaz, 19, Waldo Soroa, 19, and Matrix Andaluz, 18, stole the ashes from the Silver Springs Shores home of Holli Tencza Dec. 15 along with $1,500 worth of jewelry, a laptop computer, a 42-inch flat screen TV and a DVD player, the Ocala (Fla.) Star-Banner reported Wednesday.
The detectives said the burglary suspects told them they thought the canine ashes were crushed pills and they attempted tasting and snorting them.
The suspects told investigators the remaining ashes were later stolen from them.
The men were each charged with one count of burglary and three counts of grand theft. Two juveniles accused of working with trio were also arrested, detectives said.
