British filmmaker Ridley Scott is to direct and produce a new "Blade Runner" movie, but a script for the flick has not yet been written, Time magazine said.
Scott directed the original 1982 "Blade Runner," which was based on a Philip K. Dick novel and starred Harrison Ford and Sean Young.
Producer Andrew Kosove told the Los Angeles Times the follow-up to it is likely to hit theaters in 2014.
Pressed to disclose whether Ford or his character will appear in the next installment, Kosove told the newspaper: "If you're asking me will this movie have anything to do with Harrison Ford, the answer is no. This is a total reinvention, and in my mind that means doing everything fresh, including casting."
Time said it is unclear if the new film will be a sequel, prequel or spinoff.
