Obama Dunks in 'NBA Jam'

Obama Dunks in 'NBA Jam'President Barack Obama is serving as an unlockable character in the latest installment of video game franchise "NBA Jam," the Canada-based developer said.

Trey Smith, creative director of the game for EA Sports, based in Vancouver, British Columbia, said President Bill Clinton appeared in the original 1994 version of the game, but Obama's appearance in the Nintendo Wii version, released Tuesday, was more involved, USA Today reported Tuesday.

"Since President Obama is a baller, we kind of blew it out even further," Smith said. "When you dunk with him, he has some special animations and some special dunks."

Smith said the game, which retails for $50, also features appearances from other politicians including former President Clinton, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Vice President Joe Biden, former President George W. Bush, former Vice President Dick Cheney, Sen. John McCain, and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

The developer said the political teams have their own uniforms, home courts and logos in the game.

"It wasn't like we just threw them in at the last minute," Smith said. "It's something we had planned from the get-go."
