The
Navy Enlisted Advancement Examination
The Navy Enlisted Advancement System (NEAS) uses two major components
to determine who will advance. After each exam cycle, Final Multiple
Scores (FMS) and Quotas are used to select personnel for enlisted
advancement in the Navy. The FMS system is based on knowledge, performance,
and experience factors and considers the “whole person” in determining
who will be advanced to fill the quotas, or vacancies, within each

The
Air Force Weighted Airman Promotion System (WAPS) Boards
If you are eligible for promotion, based on TIS/TIG/Skill Level,
and your commander's recommendation, then you will be subject to
the WAPS points system. If you are among those with the most "WAPS
Points" in your AFSC (Air Force Specialty Code) you will get promoted.
A portion of your WAPS promotion points are derived from the Promomtion
Fitness Examination and the Specialty Knowledge Tests. More...

Coast Guard Service Wide Examination (SWE)
The Coast Guard advances enlisted personnel to the rates of
E-5 through E-9 based on a Service Wide Competition. Candidates
are rank ordered based on their SWE final multiple score (FMS).
