Hey Florida Spouses and Vets -- Health Net Wants to Hire You

If you're a military spouse or veteran in the Tampa, Florida region (or able to move there) you're in some serious luck. Health Net Federal Services is hiring, and they are looking specifically for people just like you.

You know Health Net because they administer Tricare’s North region as well as the Veterans Administration's (VA) Veterans Choice program. That program allows VA users to access care outside the VA hospital system -- a big deal considering the recent problems at the VA. Now to help serve those users Health Net has just opened a brand new, state of the art facility in Tampa, Florida that they want to staff with military veterans and their families.

Health Net is looking to hire about 500 new employees at a new location in Tampa, Florida for a whole slew of different job descriptions. No matter what kind of education you have, as long as you're a high school graduate interested in health care and helping the military community, there's a good chance they are looking for someone with your skill set to fill one of their openings.

Chosen for its proximity to the nearby James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital in Tampa, the new Health Net office is very, very polished. In addition to on-site, state of the art childcare space, the building hosts an employee fitness center, food court and atrium. Imagine with me being able to drop-off and pick-up your child and go to the gym without leaving your company's footprint. If that's not living the dream, I don't know what is.

This new office isn't just all fun and games, though, Health Net officials said. It's got some serious space for really impactful work. Not only does it have an authorization and appointing center and an inbound call center, it also houses spacious administrative and management offices to support Health Net’s Department of Veterans Affairs Programs’ mega growth.

Health Net officials said they are interested in hiring veterans, military spouses and family members not just because they run a business focused on serving those populations, but because they know what we know -- that veterans and spouses make awesome employees. We have a top notch work ethic. We know what it's like to work as a team around a common cause. And we know best how to support members of our community, people who are just like us and our families.

Need a job? Health Net is hiring in the Tampa area. Health Net's new Tampa location. Fancy!

So what kind of spots are they looking to fill? The open positions include jobs like review nurses with clinical experience, customer service representatives, clerical support staff and appointment and referral specialists -- all hands-on jobs with real life impact to veteran and military family users. You can see a sample of some of the job openings here.

Due to the minimal requirements needed for these positions, this could be the perfect gig for a recent college graduate who wants some meaningful work in health care or a military spouse looking to return to the workplace after a hiatus to stay home with the kids, Health Net officials said.

Health Net sponsored this post because they want to get the word out to our community about these jobs. They are also soon hosting a series of hiring fairs in Tampa aimed at filling the 500 open positions. You can visit them, find out more information and apply from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, October 25 through Thursday, October 29 at 5701 E. Hillsborough Avenue, 2nd Floor, Suite 2200 in Tampa.
