A 42-foot fishing vessel ran aground Sunday morning on the Columbia River near Kalama, Wash., after striking some pilings. The master of a passing tugboat notified the Coast Guard at 8:00 a.m. to report that a fishing boat was grounded. The master of the fishing boat attempted to re-float the vessel, but was unsuccessful.

Coast Guard crews from Sector San Diego are searching for a man and his fiancée missing since yesterday afternoon off the coast of Oceanside, Calif. The man, Josh Hartman, and his fiancée, identified as Anna (no last name given), left Oceanside Harbor yesterday morning on their vessel Pelican at 7:30 a.m. and were due to return at 3 p.m.

The Coast Guard conducted a multi-asset search today after receiving reports of a debris field west of the Golden Gate Bridge. The search was suspended after more than six hours of searching by Coast Guard boats, air assets, and mobile units uncovered no new information.

The Coast Guard medically evacuated a man Wednesday the fishing vessel (F/V) Desender 100-miles north of Cold Bay.
The 28-year-old man, Thomas Demuro, was in need of immediate medical attention when the Coast Guard received the request for assistance.

The Coast Guard medevaced a 42-year-old man from an oil tanker approximately 30 miles south of Freeport, Texas. A watchstander at Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston received a call at 5 a.m. from the manager of emergency management for the 781-foot SPT- Conqueror. The manager reported a crewmember had been struck in the head while working and was in need of immediate medical attention.

Rear Adm. Manson K. Brown will be relieved as Commander, Coast Guard Maintenance and Logistics Command Pacific by Capt. Robert E. Day, during a change of command ceremony. Brown, who has been stationed on Coast Guard Island as the Maintenance and Logistics Command Pacific Commander since June 2006, will take the helm of the Fourteenth Coast Guard District in Honolulu, Hawaii.

The Coast Guard has suspended the search for three fishermen in the vicinity of Stevenson, Wash., approximately 30 miles east of Vancouver, Wash. The decision to suspend was only made after multiple searches over 72 river miles were conducted by a Coast Guard HH-60C Jayhawk helicopter crew from Air Station Astoria, a crew of Coast Guard Auxiliary members and local search and rescue partners.

Coast Guard and Custom and Border Protection Air and Marine crews working in tandem along Florida's coastlines have intercepted 10 suspected smugglers from Key West, Fla., to Miami during the last 24 hours and will transfer those individuals to CBP Border Patrol and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement investigators for further questioning.

Coast Guard Sector Portland is responding to a report of three missing fishermen in the vicinity of Stevenson, Wash., approximately 30 miles east of Vancouver, Wash. Sector Portland received a call at noon from the Skamania County Sheriff reporting three men missing.

The Coast Guard is responding to a report of a personal watercraft collision north of Key Biscayne, Fla., at Bear Cut. The watchstander at Coast Guard Station Miami Beach, Fla., received a phone call from a good Samaritan stating there had been a PWC accident and two people were seriously injured.
