GI Bill for Correspondence Training

Man writing at a desk wearing a collared shirt.

Correspondence training differs from distance learning in that you receive lessons in the mail. You have a certain amount of time to complete and return the lessons for a grade.

Payment amounts are made quarterly after VA receives certification of lessons completed from the school.

Correspondence training is not available for children training under DEA.

For Post-9/11 GI Bill recipients, VA reimburses the lesser of the net actual costs for in-state tuition and fees or the maximum amount allowed by law. See our Post-9/11 GI Bill Rates page for details.

For all other GI Bill recipients, VA will reimburse 55 percent of the approved costs.
