Stuttgart Clinic Commander, Top NCO Suspended

KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany -- The senior leadership of the U.S. Army health clinic in Stuttgart, has been suspended pending the outcome of an investigation, an Army spokeswoman said.

Col. Joanna Reagan, commander of the Stuttgart Army Health Clinic, and Sgt. 1st Class Marcell Jones, the clinic’s noncommissioned officer in charge, both received administrative suspensions Friday, said Marie Shaw, a spokeswoman for the clinic’s higher headquarters.

Shaw said she could not detail why the suspensions were given until the investigation is complete.

The suspensions were handed down by Col. Judith Lee, who in May took command of Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, which includes the U.S. military’s largest overseas hospital and a number of smaller medical clinics around Europe.

For now, Maj. Judy Elsbury will serve as the clinic’s acting commander and Master Sgt. Dave Poist will serve as the acting noncommissioned officer in charge, Shaw said.
