More Instructors Eyed in Air Force Sex Scandal
HOUSTON -- Two more instructors are being investigated for possible illicit relations with female trainees, bringing to 30 the number of instructors caught in the ever- widening sex scandal at a U.S. Air Force training center, authorities said Thursday.
The two instructors at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, are accused of liaisons with women in training, including one incident in which an instructor is suspected of having sex with a recruit during basic training, The Houston Chronicle reported, citing U.S. Air Force investigators.
Details of the new cases have not been released.
The Air Force had previously said 28 instructors were caught in the sex scandal that came to light a year ago, with 54 female trainees listed as victims.
Five boot camp instructors have been convicted in courts-martial since last summer and seven more cases are headed to courts- martial.
