Islamabad - Taliban militants released a video showing severed heads of several Pakistani soldiers missing since a clash in the north-western region, media reports and official said.
The incident occurred after 15 soldiers went missing earlier in the week in the Bajaur tribal district during an army offensive.
A rebel spokesman said late Friday that they had killed all 15 troops and beheaded 11.
The video showed a row of heads as a purported rebel leader stood nearby, Dawn newspaper reported Saturday.
"It is true that 15 soldiers have been killed," a security official said on condition of anonymity. He refused to comment on the video.
The military claimed it had killed dozens of militants during the operation in the mountainous region near the Afghan border.
