   Palestinian Islamic Jihad Ideology

 
 
Member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
The Palestinian Islamic Jihad is Sunni Moslem group dedicated to the creation of an Islamic Palestinian state, and to the destruction of Israel through armed confrontation. Because of its support for Israel, the United States has been named as an enemy, and the PIJ has threatened a military response if the U.S. moves its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. The PIJ's model of Islamic revolution is derived from the example set by Iran in 1979.
