Joint Agency Team Seizes 959 Lbs of Marijuana

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas - A joint agency surveillance team seized 959 pounds of marijuana on the beaches of Padre Island, Sunday morning.
While conducting a joint surveillance operation on the beaches of Padre Island National Sea Shore personnel from Customs and Boarder Protection and Coast Guard Station South Padre Island spotted some foot prints in the sand. The team followed the foot prints into the brush and uncovered 18 bales of marijuana.
The bales were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
