
Coast Guard Rescues 3 Men Near Laguna Vista, Texas U. S. Coast Guard

HOUSTON - Three men were plucked from the Gulf of Mexico near Laguna Vista Texas, Tuesday at 7:50 p.m., by a Coast Guard rescue crew from Station South Padre Island (SPI), Texas.
The watchstander at Coast Guard Station SPI, received a call at 7:30 p.m. from an Alma Decker, a resident of Laguna Vista. Decker stated that she could see an overturned small boat with people in the water approximately one mile east of the Laguna Vista Boat Docks.
A rescue boat crew from the station was immediately dispatched. The rescue crew arrived on scene at 7:47 p.m., located the overturned boat and three men in the water. The three men; Jesse Camargo, 40, Cecilio Camargo, 47, and Jesus Camargo Jr., 14, from Harlingen, Texas, were safely rescued and transported to station SPI to awaiting EMS personnel. All three were reported to be in good condition.
A fourth man, Robert Camargo, who had been in the boat, had swam to shore safely.
