3 Dead in Tinker AFB Murder-Suicide

An airman reportedly killed his two children and then himself after arguing with his ex-wife Feb. 25 at Tinker Air Force Base, Okla. News reports quote Oklahoma County Sheriff John Whetsel as saying base officials called his office at about 2:30 p.m. asking for help with a domestic disburbance. None of the victims or the airman have been identified, pending notification of family members. The Oklahoman newspaper reported that after arguing with her husband, a women left the house and then heard gunshots. Air Force security forces, along with sheriff's deputies and other law enforcement officials responded to the scene, where they believed the man could have been holding hostages, the paper reported. When officials entered the home at about 4:30 p.m. they found the children, ages 8 and 4, along with their father, all dead. The paper quoted Whetsel as saying a joint investigation is underway.
