Military.com Remembers the Cold War

From the Manhattan Project through the break up of the Soviet Union, more American veterans served as Cold Warriors than as soldiers, seamen or airmen of any conflict in American history.
Beyond the debate of its origins and the academic inquiry into its socio-cultural effects, the Cold War saw a long period of effort and sacrifice by the men and women of the U.S. armed forces.

While facing absolute peril, Cold Warriors served as global bulwark against totalitarian aggression and work as stewards of the nuclear genie in a proliferating world.

Military.com encourages Cold War veterans to share their stories by contributing to the Veterans' Stories online.
