The Living History Project
Military.com, in
conjunction with its partners, is dedicated to collecting and preserving the
personal histories of those who served to protect our nation.
As these stories are
collected, they will be posted on a frequent basis so that current and future
generations can learn of and appreciate the courage and sacrifices made by these
brave men and women.

the Cold War.

a comprehensive pictures of what it was like to live through the

Histories: Detailed recollections of our veterans' wartime experience
captured by agencies such as the Eisenhower Institute or by Military.com.

- Rarey's
Sketchbook: In 1942, George
Rarey, a young cartoonist and commercial artist, was drafted
into the Army Air Corps. He flew a P-47 before he drove a
car. He was
killed in action shortly after D-Day, but during
his service he kept a cartoon journal of the daily life of
the fighter pilots.
This section presents some of those works and comments from
family and friends.
