Individual Reservists (IRs) are no longer authorized per diem for missed meals and lodging at locations where government meals and lodging are available. This change is in accordance with the Joint Travel Regulations and does not apply to grades O-7 and above. When IRs generate orders, the appropriate meal and lodging statements must be selected from the menus in AROWS-R. Adding statements to the order does not generate an entitlement and will be corrected by an orders specialist. Also, AF Form 2282s are no longer accepted for missed meals. To determine which Air Force installations have government quarters and meals available, visit the following links: CONUS locations and OCONUS locations. Contact your servicing HQ RIO Detachment for further information. For more on per diem visit this Military.com page.
