Did you know you can get free IT certifications just because you are a veteran? While there are several different programs available, here are two that stand out.

FedVTE Program

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is offering free online cybersecurity training to all veterans through their Federal Virtual Training Environment (FedVTE) program.

The FedVTE program, managed by DHS, contains more than 800 hours of training on topics such as ethical hacking and surveillance, risk management and malware analysis.

The program is free for all federal employees and veterans. Classes are on-demand and online.

USO & Skillsoft Partnership

The USO, in a partnership with Skillsoft, is offering active duty members, spouses and veterans free unlimited access to an entire library of training and certification tools.

The program is available to active-duty service members within 12 months of their projected end-of-service date; military spouses; and veterans who are within a year of discharge.

If you're looking to pursue a career in cyber security, get your Project Management Certification, or just advance your business skills to fill out that resume, the program is a great deal. Normally these courses cost hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars.
