Maryland Guard Soldiers and guests gather to honor the life of Guardsmen, Major Robert J. Marchanti II, March 8, 2012 at the 5th Regiment Armory, Baltimore, MD. Marchanti was deployed with the 29th Infantry Division Security Partnering Team 2 in Afghanistan, working as a mentor to the Afghan National Police. He died Feb. 25, 2012 in Kabul, Afghanistan due to wounds received during an attack on the Afghan Interior Ministry.
