Marine Survives Taliban Sniper Headshot

A Taliban sniper managed to get a non-fatal headshot on a Marine's helmet while the Marines were conducting a joint helicopter raid in the Now Zad district, Helmand Province (southern Afghanistan) in 2013.

    From all the shooting going on before they entered the tunnel, that could have been a spent round fired by the 'same side' a couple of klicks away. An aimed, fresh round would have removed his helmet, and probably part of his head. "What are we shooting at?" Obviously somebody knew an answer to that.
