Based on The New York Times bestselling true story of heroism, courage and survival, Lone Survivor tells the incredible tale of four Navy SEALs on a covert mission to neutralize a high-level al-Qaeda operative who are ambushed by the enemy in the mountains of Afghanistan. Faced with an impossible moral decision, the small band is isolated from help and surrounded by a much larger force of Taliban ready for war. As they confront unthinkable odds together, the four men find reserves of strength and resilience as they stay in the fight to the finish. Mark Wahlberg stars as Marcus Luttrell, the author of the first-person memoir "Lone Survivor," whose book has become a motivational resource for its lessons on how the power of the human spirit is tested when we are pushed beyond our mental and physical limits. Starring alongside Wahlberg as the other members of the SEAL team are Taylor Kitsch, Emile Hirsch and Ben Foster. Lone Survivor is written and directed by Peter Berg, who again crafts a striking portrait of the unbreakable bonds between men that he first explored in Friday Night Lights. www.lonesurvivorfilm.com

I am sorry if I am the only person to think that this was all unnecessary and a waste of 4 good men.I was always taught that during a military mission that the completion of the mission was the most important thing. You accept it, you do it or die trying. But when you give up that mission because the lives of a non combatant are going to have to be sacrificed to accomplish it, and the chances are really great that not taking that life will endanger your men , well I must disagree with the choice, and the results are clear. How many more died because of this failure?Did all really agree to let them go and give up the mission>guess we will never know for sure as all but the leader died. God bless them all,a hard decision needed to be made, it was, and the results speak for themselves. I might be alone in my view/impressions, but I was a soldier of the 60/70 time frame when things and people were different.
