    C 160 - 30 = C130

(Cough, cough, sputter, gasp!) I witnessed a C-130 push a HUGE cloud of dust when she reversed pitch on a short dirt strip on Ft. Hood, TX back in the '70's. It was pretty spectacular!

    How about C-27J instead!

Though in US service it is known as the C-27J Spartan, it is known officially the Transall C-160 which started service in 1967 with the Luftwaffe and French.

Should have checked closer; Yes C-160, no C-27. Thinner w/o C-130 cockpit windows.

    I stand corrected. C-160 yes....c-27 no. Thanks :)

All that dust and sand must be hell on the powerplant!

Mam I'll bet the sand does a number on these planes. I wonder how much maintenance this causes.
