Lieutenant Vicky Scott, who lives in Fareham and works in Portsmouth carried the Olympic torch in East Street, Chichester today. Vicky, described by family and friends as 'a true Florence Nightingale' was nominated by her husband Andrew, who is also in the Navy. The 33-year-old, who works at the Ministry of Defence Hospital Unit in Portsmouth (MDHU Pm), was nominated while she was on deployment to Afghanistan from April to July last year. In addition to recognising Vicky's tireless commitment during three tours of duty in Afghanistan, tending to seriously injured wounded servicemen and women, husband Andrew hoped nominating her would also raise awareness more broadly of the role of the military medical services at the frontline.
