    Nice commentary and good photo's BUT #1 No Japanese destroyers could not do 40 knots and I thought it was a cruiser and #2. the real story is that Kennedy was asleep below decks when this happened, all hands were basically alseep when the collision happened and Mr. Kennedy was not court-martialed because of his family influence! BUT...even though I know the truth I do like the 'legendary version much better'.

    I met JFK just five months before his death...he ate lunch at the chopper base NE of Frankfurt at Hanau. One book, "In Search of JFK" by Clay Blair does take JFK to task about his duty that night over 70 yrs. ago. He may not have been as vigilant as he should have been. I still think he should have been awarded the Navy Cross. PT boats had to have several crewmen to maintain the V12 Packard engines.
