Looks as if we dredged up the Lexington or the Hornet from WWII. I wonder how many will be built and how many will be used to fight things like ISIL.

Don't tell a Marine that he has only three days of supplies there, because he will make them last for six.

I was wondering when this idea was going to be use! When I went to Infantry School Feb 1982 I was next station at Ft. Lewis Wash. 9th Infantry Division. My unit was A Company 3/47 Infantry 3rd Brigade we in the Brigade was a test bed unit. About Oct 1982 the Army was wanting to do away with the light Inf. and make them motorize. We were looking into how the U.S.S.R. was doing it, cause without the trucks to haul the Light Infantry it would take to long. The Hummers are one of the thing that came out of it. The idea the Marines are wanting to do go behind the enemy lines, is the same we were looking into in 83. Sling load a Hummer from Black Hawks and carry the 9 man squad, get behind the enemy and push forward. Yes it would take a lot of Black Hawks and Gunship to do it, and the best way would be at night.
