These vehicles have huge signatures, very tall along with a very low ground clearance. One would think the Marines should get a better amphibious assault vehicle that might actually survive on the beach. Why don't we copy a BMP or one of its follow on vehicles? While at the Pentagon, I watched in amazement as a contractor tried to sell a flat bottomed amphibious assault vehicle. This despite the Marines knowing already that a V shaped belly is much more survivable to IED attack. Not a sailor, but also would figure a V Shape would do better in the water also. Shows that contractors will try to sell anything that will make them a profit. Classic "mind over matter", contractors don't mind and the troops don't matter. De Oppresso Liber.
