Westboro Baptist Church Outnumbered
People in red shirts lined Broadway in downtown Columbia on July 21 for the funeral of Army Spc. Sterling Wyatt, who was killed in Afghanistan earlier this month. Although the funeral was not until 1 p.m., the crowd started forming in the morning. The gathering started as a response to a radical protest group being in town, but the turnout of people in red overshadowed the protest. The largest group of people surrounded First Baptist Church.
