When Capt. Jessamyn Jempson needed help finding foster care for her Rhodesian Ridgeback, Emma, she turned to a nonprofit organization that supports our troops by boarding their pets. Through Dogs on Deployment, Capt. Jempson was linked up with Silvia Washington, a volunteer who offered to board her 3-year-old pup while she was deployed in Afghanistan for a year.     I left my little dog (Ethel) in Viet Nam when I left. I still think about her. Was in 1972, Sad sometimes. I always wonder what happened to her. But will never know. Now I have two dogs, a cat and a couple birds. Again, I still think about her..
