That wasn't JUST A LOW PASS, did you notice that he did not have his wheels down? Obviously he realized that at the last second, and had to go around to set his wheels in the down position.

Reminds me of the guy who banked the B-52 a bit too far and couldn't recover...3 guys dead in that one.

He was never in landing attitude. That was intended to be a low pass from start to finish.

LUCKY IS ALL I CAN SAY. LATELY A PLANE CRASHED DOING CRAP LIKE THAT. NOT ENOUGH AIR UNDER THE WINGS AND IT STALLED WHILE TAKING A TOO HARD OF A TURN.

Opps, Maybe he forgot to lower his wheels. I'd LOVE to see him do a barrel roll like the pilot did with the first B707.

It's pretty obvious what happened there, It looks like the landing gear was not deployed so they had to reengage the air. Not sure if they circled after getting the gear down and then landed. I would hope that's what happened.

I have over 16000 flying hours in the 747 Classic as a Flight Engineer. To everyone who thinks that the pilot forgot to put the landing gear down, take my word for it..he did not. This was a planned fly-by cleared by ATC and hopefuly approved by the employeer. I could get real technical, but instead I will just tell you there are many horns, bells, and whistles built into this jet to prevent landing with the gear up...not to mention 2 pilots and a flight engineer following checklists.

It was a planned low pass. There would have been warning bells and whistles and tower yelling long before he got that close. The audience seemed to know what was going on.

Why do people assume that the airline will not allow this or that the plane is not perfectly capable. He was never slow, he was very smooth and he did not overbank. He knew where he was. You don't get into 747s without some experience. I have seen FedEx do a low flyby over the St. Jude Golf Classic including an impressive turn over the golf coarse with one of their Airbus cargo planes. I was lucky to see that. The 747 from Iceland full of passengers arriving at Oshkosh did a few close flybys before landing. It doesn't mean someone is dangerous every time they do something that you can't do.

The landing gear was only partially extended. Look close, the landind gear on the right side was partially down.
