The Blue Angels are an expensive and unnecessary blast from the past. The squadron should have been eliminated years ago. Reminds me of the marines and their preps for an over the beach landing a la WWII. And the Navy goes along with thirty four amphibs (another big waste of money when warships and submarines are needed) for a passe tactic. Past glory (and needless casualties) that is no longer pertinent. Just think how many aircraft could be purchased with the money this squadron wastes a year under the pretence of recruiting future aviators. Same goes for the Air Force demo squadron and the Army's similar program. All unneeded and unnecessary.

The answer for tight formation flying is never take your eye off the other aircraft. If he flys into the sea, you will too. I know I' ve been there
