AC-130U Spooky Live-Fire Exercise

USAF Aircrews from the 4th and 5th Special Operations Squadron conduct live-fire training in AC-130U Spooky special operations aircraft from Hurlburt Field in Florida during Exercise Emerald Warrior 16.

    The first rounds you see are for the Howitzer, Then they have a Bofors 40mm single barrel, Two mini guns..I think one on each side. You see the smaller rounds in a clip that holds 4 rounds at a time for the Bofors. Did you see how many rounds the Bofors can put out at one time? Unreal! The Mini guns are 20mm rotary cannons. There have been other configurations of the armament on these AC-130's but what I have been used too are the 105 Howitzer, The 40mm Bofors, The 20mm rotary guns and some others like a 7.62 mini gun. BUT There is no doubt that this fixed wing Spooky is a weapon that can inflict a lot of damage when needed.
