The following is a list of military discounts and events offered for Independence Day 2015. Please check back frequently as the list is updated.

Adventure Aquarium

Adventure Aquarium in Camden, NJ is offering $10 tickets with military ID for up to 5 people on Sunday, July 5, 2015.

Blue Star Museums

Blue Star Museums is a partnership among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, Joining Forces, MetLife Foundation and museums across the country. From Memorial Day (May 25, 2015) through Labor Day (September 7, 2015), thousands of museums, art centers, and exhibits are offering free admission to all active duty, National Guard and Reserve military personnel and their families. 

Brick House Tavern + Tap

Brick House Tavern + Tap honors active duty military and retired veterans with a free house cheeseburger on the July 4 and 5 holiday weekend. offers all military personnel $20 off an order of $300 or more all summer 2015.


July 3 through July 5, 2015, Carowinds offers free park admission  to all active, inactive or retired service members. Military discounts will also be available at various retail locations throughout the park.

Cedar Point

All active, retired and honorably discharged members receive free admission, July 3-5, 2015. Immediate family members can also receive a military discount for $39.99 each. 

Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden

Members of the military receive free admission on July 4, 2015.  The offer also allows military personnel to purchase half-price admission tickets for members of their immediate family. 

Columbus Zoo and Aquarium

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is offering free admission and discounted Zoombezi Bay admission to military and their immediate family, June 29 through July 5, 2015.

Dorney Park

Dorney Park outside Allentown, Pennsylvania offers free regular admission to any active or retired military personnel July 3-5, 2015. Military members can also purchase discount admission tickets for members of their immediate family (maximum of six).


Funderland Amusement Park in Sacramento, CA is offering military members and their families a free day of rides on July 4, 2015.

Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park

Active duty military personnel get free admission to Gilroy Gardens in Gilroy, California July 3-5, 2015.

Home Depot

All veterans are eligible for Home Depot's 10% military discount on July 4th with a DoD-issued ID, a DD214 or a Veterans Driver’s License.

King’s Dominion

The Kings Dominion amusement park in central Virginia is offering free admission for active, inactive or retired service members on July 4 and 5, 2015. Service members may also purchase tickets for family and friends at a discounted price for up to six tickets.

King’s Island

All military members – active and retired -- will receive free admission to King’s Island, an amusement and water park in Ohio July 3-5, 2015. They are also offering discounted tickets for family members.


Lowe's is offering their 10% military discount to military personnel in active, reserve or retired status, as well as retired veterans and those receiving VA benefits on July 4th.

Major League Baseball

Many major league baseball teams offer military discounts throughout the season. Some teams, like the Washington Nationals, are also celebrating military members on the 4th of July. Click here to see if your favorite team is offering a military discount.

Michigan's Adventure

Michigan’s Adventure is offering military personnel a free admission on July 2-3, 2015. In addition, military personnel may purchase up to six additional tickets for family members at a discounted price.

Naples Zoo

The Naples Zoo in Florida is offering free admission to all active and prior service personnel July 3-6. Plus, adult and child guests can also purchase tickets at $2 off regular Zoo admission during the weekend.

Sun Splash Family Waterpark

Sun Splash Family Waterpark in Cape Coral, Florida offers free admission for active or retired military, disabled veterans and military reservists  on July 4, 2015. A discount is also available for up to 4 family members..


Valleyfair amusement park in Minnesota is offering free admission during their Military Appreciation Days July 2 through 5, 2015. This includes both active duty personnel and veterans, and discounted tickets are available for immediate family members.

Worlds of Fun

Active duty, retired military and National Guard and Reserve receive complimentary admission to Worlds of Fun in Kansas City on July 4, 2015. Military personnel can also purchase discounted tickets for their immediate family. 


Washington, D.C.

National Independence Day Parade

The National Independence Day Parade features marching bands, military and specialty units and patriotic floats. It's a great start to a full day of Fourth of July events. The parade starts at 11:45 a.m. on Constitution Avenue and 7th Street.

A Capitol Fourth

"A Capitol Fourth" is a free, 90-minute concert and features the National Symphony Orchestra. The concert is held on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol. Gates open at 5 p.m., and the concert begins at 8 p.m. (The majority of PBS stations replay "A Capitol Fourth" immediately after the show concludes. In most areas this is from 9:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. EDT, but check local listings.)

National Archives

The National Archives, home of the original Declaration of Independence, kicks off their Fourth of July celebration at 10 a.m. with a ceremony that includes a presentation of colors, patriotic performances and a reading of the Declaration of Independence. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., family activities are scheduled, including appearances by Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin and other historical figures. 

National Mall Fireworks

One of the largest Independence Day fireworks display is held on the National Mall. Fireworks begin at 9:10 p.m. and last 17 minutes. Fireworks will be launched from the Reflecting Pool area, and will be visible from many locations in D.C. and Virginia.

New York

Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks

The 39th Annual Macy's 4th of July Fireworks returns to the East River and lights up the night from the Brooklyn Bridge. The fireworks may be viewed from any area with an unobstructed view of the sky above the East River. Click here for a list of performers.

Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest

The annual Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest at Nathan’s Famous will take place on Brooklyn’s Coney Island.
