The Best Amusement Park Military Discounts

Amusement parks are a fun way for families to spend time together while on vacation. But tickets aren’t cheap, especially for larger families.

Many military families take advantage of the military discounts available for the Disney parks, but may not be aware of the discounts available for other popular amusement parks.

The following are amusement parks that offer military discounts. Keep in mind that many other amusement parks throughout the country offer military discounts on specific holidays like Memorial Day, Independence Day and Veterans Day. Check back with us when those holidays roll around to see what parks offer discounts.

Cedar Point 

Cedar Point in Ohio offers $21 off a regular all-day admission ticket to active, retired, and honorably discharged members of the military. They also host special Military Appreciation events throughout the year.

Colonial Williamsburg

Active duty military and immediate family members can receive a Military One Day Plus Pass to Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia through MWR/ITT offices, or 10% off on multi-day tickets at their ticket windows. Click here for more details.

Colonial Williamsburg has also joined the Blue Star Partnership, which means that between Memorial Day and Labor Day, military families are offered one day of free admission to the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg. Tickets are available at the Colonial Williamsburg Regional Visitor Center or the DeWitt Wallace Decorative Arts Museum.

Crayola Experience

The Crayola Experience in Easton, Pennsylvania offers $4 off admission when you purchase tickets online. The discount is available to active duty and retired military personnel, reservists, National Guard and their dependents.

Dollywood

Dollywood in Tennessee offers a 30% discount on one-day admission tickets for active or retired military, disabled veterans, reservists, spouses, and dependents. Tickets cannot be pre-purchased and must be purchased at the front gate of Dollywood and/or Dollywood’s Splash Country.

King’s Dominion

Active and retired military can purchase discounted single day general admission tickets to King’s Dominion in Virginia.

King’s Dominion also offers season discounts. During Military Appreciation Days, Memorial Day weekend, and Fourth of July weekend, admission is free for active and retired military.

King’s Island 

King’s Island in Ohio offers discounts off the regular Front Gate admission price to active duty service members. The discount is available only at the park for up to 6 family members.

Knoebel’s Amusement Resort

Active duty service members receive a free All-Day or Sundown Plan Ride Pass at Knoebel’s Amusement Resort in Pennsylvania. This discount is available from opening day to the end of the season. On days when an All-Day Ride Pass isn’t available, you’ll get $20 in ride tickets.  Plus, from Flag Day (June 14) through the Fourth of July, family members can receive a special “buy one-get-one free offer on Mondays through Fridays.

LEGOLAND

LEGOLAND Florida offers active duty military personnel a free single day admission throughout the year and seasonally at the LEGOLAND Water Park. Family and friends of military personnel also receive discounts on admission tickets.

At LEGOLAND California Resort, active duty military can receive discounts on one-day admission tickets as well as resort hopper tickets. 

For both parks, you can also get discounts if you plan ahead and purchase the tickets through your MWR/ITT offices on base.

Morgan's Wonderland

Morgan's Wonderland in San Antonio, Texas offers $6 off entry for active duty and retired military personnel and their families.

Schlitterbahn Waterpark and Resort

Schlitterbahn Waterpark and Resort in New Braunfels, Texas offers military rates through ITT/MWR offices at military installations. This discount is not available at the park. 

Sea World Parks

Through the SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment program “Waves of Honor," military members can receive one complimentary admission per year to either SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Adventure Island, Water Country USA, Sesame Place or weekdays at Aquatica San Diego.

Register online or buy tickets at the park. You can also purchase tickets at Shades of Green, an Armed Forces Recreation Center (AFRC) in Orlando, Florida, which is a 15 to 30 minute drive from SeaWorld. (Shades of Green is also a great place to stay if you’re looking for affordable hotels in the area.)

Six Flags

Most military bases offer discounted admission tickets to Six Flags parks so check with your nearest MWR/ITT office. There are no military discounts available at the park ticket offices.

Universal Studios

Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida offers an on-site hotel vacation military package with special ticket offer from only $269 per adult​. This includes 3-night hotel accommodations, 1-day park-to-park ticket with 2 days free, early park admission to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and access to select live entertainment venues at Universal CityWalk.

Purchase discounted tickets at your MWR/ITT office or Shades of Green.

Universal Studios Hollywood offers a discount off general admission tickets for active duty and retired military, DoD personnel, National Guard, Reservists and their dependents. You can pre-purchase tickets at your MWR/ITT office or you can order than on the phone. But you can still receive the discounted tickets at the ticket booth with your valid military or US government ID.

Wet'n Wild Emerald Pointe Water Park

Wet'n Wild Emerald Pointe, the Carolinas' Largest Water Park offers a military discount at the main gate on any operating day. You''ll get $7 off up to 6 general admission tickets. Discounted tickets can also be purchased at most North Carolina military bases.
