New 2012-13 Montgomery GI Bill Rates

Each year in October, the Montgomery GI Bill (MGIB) payment rates increase to meet the growing cost of education. In October, 2012, the Montgomery GI Bill full-time payment rate will increase to $1,564 for the 2013 fiscal year. Eligible veterans and servicemembers could receive more than $56,000 in total benefits over 36 months.

Montgomery GI Bill Monthly Rates

The following MGIB payment rates effective from Oct. 1, 2012 through Sept. 30, 2013:

Correspondence and Flight — Entitlement charged at the rate of one month for each $1,564 paid.
Cooperative — $1,564.00

Monthly MGIB Rate for Apprenticeship and On-The-Job Training
(Effective October 1, 2012)

Second six months of training $860
Remaining pursuit of training $547.40

 

The following rates apply to those completing an enlistment of less than three years.
