24-inch Rocket Motor Blazes to Life

A 24-inch, two-segment solid rocket motor blazed to life with 50,000 pounds of thrust during a hot fire test. Engineers from NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., conducted the test at a nearby Redstone Arsenal test facility capable of testing solid rocket motors in a vertical configuration.
