Soldiers Hit Drones with Stinger Missiles

    1.31.2012 - I Battery, 1st Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment conducted a stinger missile live-fire exercise at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, Calif. The FIM-92 is a surface-to-air heat-seeking missile, designed to defend the airspace against airborne threats. In this exercise, soldiers engage drones to simulate larger aircrafts.
