City of Alameda Gets Navy Base

    June 24th, 2013 -- For nearly two decades the Alameda naval base has sat like a military ghost town. The vacant area now appears to be on the move, with plans to fill the site with new homes and commercial buildings. The Navy on Monday officially handed over the land back to the City of Alameda to get the ball rolling on the projects. NBC Bat Area's Joe Rosato Jr. reports.
