Meatless Mondays for Norwegian Army

    From major public school districts to leading food suppliers, celebrities and restaurants, the Meatless Mondays movement just keeps growing. The newest to join its ranks is the Norwegian military, which is implementing Meatless Mondays due to the huge environmental impact of animal-based food choices. "It's a step to protect our climate," spokesman Eystein Kvarving explains. "The idea is to serve food that's respectful of the environment." According to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, livestock production is responsible for a whopping 18 percent of the world's greenhouse gas emissions.
