Air Force Boom Operator in Action

    SSgt Robert Prince is an in-flight refueling technician, or boom operator. He is currently deployed to the 22nd Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron at the Transit Center at Manas, Kyrgyzstan. He graduated from Beaumont High School in Beaumont, Calif., in 2006 and enlisted in the Air Force that year as a services apprentice, later retraining to be a boom operator. He is married and has two children. Lead: Refueling aircraft allows other aircraft to stay in the air longer. That translates into saving fuel and money, but more importantly, lives.
