Our Elf on the Shelf, “Chippy” has stayed in the same place twice already since he made his appearance on the first. Actually, he didn’t appear on the first but left us a note explaining he had to return early to the North Pole to help Santa with all the new elves. (He was actually in a moving box somewhere that I couldn’t locate so I had to go out and buy a new one the next day.)

Your Elf on the Shelf may feel left out if he or she isn’t in any of the family photos. But they can easily add themselves like in the picture below. If your service member is gone for the holidays, this is a great way to make sure the whole, um, family is a part of the Elf on the Shelf military experience.
Does your Elf play with the other toys while you are sleeping? The Army has this one under control.
Hot chocolate is frequently served this time of year. Maybe your Elf on the Shelf would like some too? Stick him in one of those 25 military mugs you have and now he's a part of your last duty station.
Did someone touch the Elf? If that happens I know it’s nice for them to stay in one spot, but this is a fun way for the them to get some rest while they recuperate. Give the reindeer some camo and call it a military hospital.
So super heroes aren't always military -- but Captain America was! If you have a super hero in the house, these free printable can give your Elf a costume to match your kids.
