Blue Star Museums is one of our favorite summer programs. It is an incredibly cost-effective idea for fun this summer -- and there's still time to visit some before school starts again.

1. You can bring the whole family! You can bring up to 5 family members with you to your museum visit, so you can build memories for generations to come!
2. It's an easy resource while PCS-ing or traveling with milkids during the summer. One of our Blue Star Families members and her family recently PCSed to Germany. On their way from Missouri, they stopped in NYC. She said “Blue Star Museums allowed my family to visit New York Transit Museum free of charge. All I had to do was show my military ID and say I am a Blue Star Families’ member. This is my family’s first museum visit for this trip and many more to come. My boys love trains.”

4. It's a great way to explore a new community! Our Event Planning Manager recently PCSed, and had this to say about her Blue Star Museums’ experience: “Having a two and a half year old, I am always looking for new places to get out and burn energy while also exposing him to new and interesting experiences. Upon PCSing to New York, I found that Storm King Art Center was the perfect mix of both! The gigantic sculptures and fountains were tremendously engaging to my ever-curious toddler, and the acres of paths and grassy and wooded areas provided the perfect spot to explore throughout the morning and share a picnic lunch. I envision many more visits to Storm King Art Center throughout the summer of Blue Star Museums and throughout the rest of the year!”
