Military Spouse of the Year Round One Voting Open

FacebookXPinterestEmailEmailEmailShare

We recently told you about the Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year awards -- an annual nationwide program that not only allows military and non-military folks alike to nominate their favorite military spouse, but then gives them a hand in picking the final winner.

Voting is now open! Vote here!

Now that the nomination phase has closed (as of 1/15) you can now pop over to the AFI Military Spouse the Year's website and see just who was nominated -- and on Wednesday, Jan. 21  only you'll be able to cast your vote for the base level winners.

That's right, this contest not only picks a national winner and a winner for each branch, it also highlights impactful spouse at each brand or region.

We aren't going to officially endorse anyone here, if only because it's just way, WAY too hard to pick one from among the whole hill of fantastic spouses who have received nominations that we personally know and love. You just really need to go and look at the list of folks.

The voting for this contest is a mix of internet popularity poll and the votes of advisers (like past winners and the spouses of the service chiefs) and officials with AFI and Military Spouse Magazine. That means that while you (yes, you) have say in every part of the voting, so does two panels of experts.

But those panels don't step in until the next round. First we have to get through choosing base-level winners. And that's all on you.

There's only one vote per email address (with the idea being that you only vote once) so pick your candidate wisely. These winners will then proceed to the next level where voting for the branch level winners happens. You'll get a vote there too, and then the panels will step in. Those folks will be invited to the awards luncheon in Washington, D.C., where the national winner will be announced (after you've had the chance for even more voting).

Ready to go? Go here to check out the base-level winners! When voting opens, we'll update this post with a link for that, too.

Good luck to all the nominees!
