Cute Marine Has Awesome Message For New Moms

Share

New Moms, you know that moment when you catch sight of yourself in a mirror and a mommy suddenly stares back at you?

You know that moment when you have had so little sleep you look like Frodo, no, Gollum, scaling the last crag on Mt. Doom?

You know that moment when you turn to your Marine, Coastie, sailor, soldier, or airman looking for a little love, hope and encouragement and ask something unwise like, "Do you think I'm still hot?"

You do?  Then you, too, have witnessed your service member have an epic fail.  Instead of saying what he ought to say, or saying what he means to say, or even saying what he really wants to say, he says whatever just pops into his head.  Poor little fella.

Well, some military guys really do manage to get it right.  At the 2014 Warrior-Family Symposium sponsored by MOAA and NDIA in Washington, DC last week, Marine Captain Matt Smith wrote a song for exactly that moment.  You might recognize him from when he performed  with Antebellum at The Academy of Country Music's All Star Salute to Troops.

If you need a pick me up, or you want to know what your service member meant to say, you've got to watch this--and tell us what you think of his message!
