Want YOUR Kids To Hunt Eggs At White House?

Every year on Easter Monday, the President and First Lady host a bunch of cute kids at the White House for an Easter Egg Roll.

Every year I wish my kids were invited to that event.  I have cute kids.  They have their own baskets.  They are awesome at picking up eggs.  Really.  If there are eggs that need picking up, by golly my kids can do it.

But to attend the event, you gotta have tickets.

041409-Guard-fullAs part of their ongoing effort to open the White House to as many people as possible, the President and First Lady announced that White House Easter Egg Roll tickets will be distributed this year through an online lottery system.

The lottery will open for entries on March 7th at 10:00 AM EST and close on March 10th at 10:00 AM EDT.  Tickets are free of charge and are non-transferable.  So if you can't attend in person on Monday, April 21st, you can't send the tickets to friends in the DC area.  Find more details  at www.WhiteHouse.gov/EasterEggRoll.

Thousands of people attend the event so it can be crowded. As part of  the First Lady’s Let’s Move! initiative, the event will also feature sports courts, cooking stations, live music and storytelling.

If you are stationed within driving distance of Washington, DC.  Take a shot at getting these tickets.  There is nothing like taking part in the traditions of our nation's Capitol to add to a military childhood. For more fun events to enjoy while stationed in or visiting the DC area, click here.
