At SpouseBUZZ, we strive to create a supportive social environment for all milspouses; past, present and future. Today, I'm going to introduce you to two amazing women who will soon begin writing for SpouseBUZZ. Their stories are heartbreaking, yet inspiring. We need to hear their stories. We need to do what we can to support them.

Taryn Davis' husband Michael was killed in Iraq in 2007 by a roadside bomb. Taryn turned her tragedy into a force for good with the creation of The American Widow Project. AWP is a non-profit organization which seeks to connect and support surviving girlfriends and wives. Taryn's AWP community keeps her very busy, so we're fortunate that she is also making time to contribute here. Both Taryn and I hope that she can shed some light on the unique challenges that widows face, inform us on ways we can support widows and help build a bridge between us and the Gold Star community. One that will keep all of us connected, even through loss. Especially through loss.

Kristle Helmuth is an Army veteran and the wife of a medically retired wounded warrior. Kristle and her family have been battling the effects of Traumatic Brain Inquiry (TBI) and cognitive impairments. As Kristle says, they intend to "show the Big Bad TBI Monster that he will NEVER win!" We think Kristle's perspective is valuable. None of us know when we might find ourselves in her shoes. Kristle will take us through her journey and share the challenges and triumphs of navigating the healthcare system, advocating on behalf of her husband and keeping her family going strong through it all. Kristle's personal blog can be found here.

Ladies, it's an honor to have you share your lives and perspectives here at SpouseBUZZ. We look forward to learning more about you and finding ways we can help support your respective communities.
