Stop-Loss Pay Deadline Extended Again

Share

Spread the word to potentially eligible friends: the deadline to apply for retroactive stop-loss pay has been extended by Congress yet again, according to this story.

The new extension, this time to March 4, is meant to give troops who were stop-lossed between September 2011 and September 2008 extra pay for their trouble. They can receive $500 for each month they were kept beyond their intended separation date.

Surviving spouses can also apply for the special pay.

The processing time for the pay is about 90 days, due to an application backlog.

Fewer than half of those elibigble have been paid.
